201 Modified

201 Modified is a high-manganese, nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel providing substantially higher yield and tensile strengths than 304 stainless and general-corrosion resistance between 430 and 304 stainless. 201 Modified stainless is lower in nickel content compared to standard 201, resulting in higher cold worked strength. 201 Modified stainless is essentially nonmagnetic in the annealed condition but becomes magnetic after cold working to high-strength levels.
