303 Project 70®+

UNS #S30300

303 Project 70®+ stainless is an improved-machining version of 303 and the first chrome-nickel, free-machining stainless steel ever produced. It combines the superior machinability of Project 70®+ stainless with improved straightness and roundness at half-standard or ISO h9 dimensional tolerances. This drawn bar has been used successfully in a variety of machining operations including CNC Swiss-style screw machines. It enables machining speed improvements of 50% or more over AISI Type 303 and offers reduced tool wear and increased machine speeds and feeds to help improve productivity and reduce part costs. A good general purpose product for simple and complex parts at a wide range of machining speeds, this steel possesses nongalling properties that make disassembly of parts easy and help to avoid scratching or galling in moving parts.
