430FR Solenoid Quality

430FR Solenoid Quality is a ferritic chromium-iron stainless alloy specially developed for soft magnetic components which must operate in corrosive environments. Its increased silicon content results in higher annealed hardness and electrical resistivity that reduces eddy current losses and compared to 430F Solenoid Quality. The higher hardness reduces deformation (peening) that can occur during impacts between moving and stationary parts of AC and DC magnetic circuits. In applications involving AC excitation, 430FR Solenoid Quality exhibits superior performance due to its higher electrical resistivity that increases as the magnetic component diameter and frequency increase due to the suppression of eddy current losses.
